{"id":3259,"date":"2026-05-03T00:52:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T23:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/?p=3259"},"modified":"2026-05-03T00:53:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T23:53:45","slug":"la-economia-y-el-buen-periodismo-economico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/2026\/05\/03\/la-economia-y-el-buen-periodismo-economico\/","title":{"rendered":"El buen periodismo econ\u00f3mico como servicio p\u00fablico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thomas Friedman, periodista de <em>The New York Times<\/em>, explica que eligi\u00f3 esta profesi\u00f3n para \u201ctraducir del ingl\u00e9s al ingl\u00e9s\u201d, es decir, para explicar las cosas complejas de forma sencilla.<br \/>\nEs indudable que, en muchas ocasiones, el seguimiento de la actualidad del mundo de la empresa, o de la econom\u00eda en general, plantea ciertos problemas.<\/p>\n<p>El uso de palabras que forman parte de una jerga profesional, pero publicadas en medios generalistas, hasta la propia e innegable complejidad de algunos aspectos de la econom\u00eda, hacen que el ciudadano se sienta lejano a muchos temas que son de vital importancia para entender lo que ocurre a nuestro alrededor.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque sea una cuesti\u00f3n conocida, conviene recordar que gracias al periodismo en general y al periodismo econ\u00f3mico en particular, somos capaces de seguir, entender y poder criticar aspectos relevantes de la vida econ\u00f3mica.<\/p>\n<p>La distancia entre economistas, periodistas y ciudadanos es un tema recurrente, tal como se\u00f1al\u00f3 Richard Parker al destacar que entre los economistas y los periodistas deber\u00eda existir una relaci\u00f3n cercana y fluida, pero en la pr\u00e1ctica, los economistas consideran que los medios simplifican, dramatizan y distorsionan la informaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica, mientras que los periodistas perciben gran parte del trabajo de los economistas, como excesivamente alejado de las preocupaciones reales de los ciudadanos (Parker, 2009).<\/p>\n<p>Un cl\u00e1sico del estudio de la opini\u00f3n p\u00fablica como Walter Lippmann, tambi\u00e9n puede ayudarnos a entender la situaci\u00f3n cuando escribe \u201cla funci\u00f3n de las noticias es se\u00f1alar un acontecimiento, la funci\u00f3n de la verdad es sacar a la luz los hechos ocultos, relacionarlos entre s\u00ed y construir una imagen de la realidad sobre la cual las personas puedan actuar\u201d (Lippmann, 1922, p. 358).<\/p>\n<p>Los temas de los que trata el periodismo econ\u00f3mico requieren tener en cuenta esos enfoques, la necesidad de sencillez de la que nos habla Thomas L. Friedman, el enfoque de Parker y, de forma m\u00e1s amplia, el an\u00e1lisis de Lippmann.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3261\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/05\/81HP8XR8u0L-180x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/05\/81HP8XR8u0L-180x270.jpg 180w, https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/05\/81HP8XR8u0L-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/05\/81HP8XR8u0L-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/05\/81HP8XR8u0L-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/05\/81HP8XR8u0L-1366x2048.jpg 1366w, https:\/\/blogs.uao.es\/economicas-empresariales\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/05\/81HP8XR8u0L.jpg 1667w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>El profesor Chris Roush se\u00f1ala que el periodismo econ\u00f3mico debe servir como puente entre la complejidad del sistema econ\u00f3mico y el ciudadano corriente.<\/p>\n<p>El buen periodismo econ\u00f3mico no es una opci\u00f3n, es una necesidad, para que los ciudadanos tengan una idea, lo m\u00e1s clara posible, de qu\u00e9 es lo que encierran t\u00e9rminos como la inflaci\u00f3n, el desempleo, la fiscalidad, o la deuda y sus riesgos en una econom\u00eda global.<\/p>\n<p>La informaci\u00f3n empresarial y econ\u00f3mica de calidad, aumenta la transparencia y la responsabilidad de todos los actores sociales y sabemos que, especialmente en per\u00edodos de crisis, el buen periodismo econ\u00f3mico se convierte en un servicio p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, en la aceleraci\u00f3n de la econom\u00eda digital, son necesarios los periodistas capaces de traducir la complejidad a un lenguaje cercano e inteligible para todos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Referencias:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lippmann, W.
